We feel the Pentax K5 camera offers excellent technological upgrades that the average user will like. But you do not need to be a programmer due to the easy to understand custom programming interface. We would recommend you read the operating manual and instructions, but you really would need to do that with any high quality camera. The K5 is complex but easy to use, and that is really the best part about it. If you know you will never use the power of a camera like the K5, then you really should look at simpler models.
